Video-Based Life Certificate

digital service launched for Central and State Government pensioners. Allows pensioners to submit their life certificates via video call from the comfort of their homes.


Steps to Submit a Life Certificate:

1. Access the Service– Log in to the Pension Saarthi portal.
– Click on the “Video-Based Life Certificate” tab.
2. Enter Details– Provide your PPO number and account number registered with the pension-paying branch.
– Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and Aadhaar.
3. Fill Pensioner Details– Answer the following questions:
1. Are you re-employed? (Yes/No)
2. Are you re-married? (Yes/No)
3. Is your income less than ₹9,000 + DA? (Yes/No)
4. Are you differently-abled? (Yes/No)
4. Schedule a Call– Choose to connect immediately or schedule the call for later.
5. During the Call– Keep your original photo ID card ready.
– Show the ID to the bank official during the video call for verification.
– Answer the displayed questionnaire and grant necessary permissions.
6. Verify Using Aadhaar OTP– Share the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number with the bank official.
7. Completion– After successful verification, the life certificate is updated in the pension software.
– If rejected, a notification is sent via SMS and email.
